Telemarketing and Fishing

Making cold calls is like fishing. Seriously. I sit here all morning with my line in the water waiting for a nibble. I may get one, I may not. Just an hour ago, "I GOT ONE!!" Whew; I finally snagged a nibbler. Too bad he jumped off the hook before I could bag him.

Telemarketing is worse than fishing because people yell and swear when you are trying to snag them. My office has trouble with its climate control, too. It's better than fishing, though, because there's no pole to hold, I can read a book at the same time, and nobody says, "Hey,
Jenna, SHHHH!! You'll scare the fish away!"

I guess I talk too much.

Anyway, the purpose of this blog is so that I can feel better about what I do all day long. I really don't like my job that much and I'll feel better if I'm showing just one person a day the ins and outs of telemarketing.

Today's tip: Put yourself on the Do Not Call list. Seriously, people like me don't want to call people like you any more than we have to. :) I've even included the link to the website for your convenience. (See, aren't I nice? Telemarketers are people too!)

GET ON THAT LIST!!!
